Game Boy Advance

The Game Boy Advance (or GBA) was introduced to international audiences in 2001. It followed the Game Boy Color, a system that introduced an improvement on the original Game Boy handheld console. The Game Boy Advance allowed users to play older titles from these two systems, yet showed a significant upgrade in hardware, pushing sales forward significantly, only improved with the introduction of the Game Boy Advance SP, a model which provided front-lighting and protection via its clamshell design. Some of the console's highest selling titles include: Pokémon Emerald, Metroid Fusion, and Advance Wars.
